Fred G. Bond Metro Park, at 310 acres, is one of the largest municipal parks in Wake County. Like an oasis in the midst of the city, the park design preserves the environment and offers opportunities for many types of recreation. All facilities are integrated into the natural setting. Visitors may enjoy picnics, play ball on the athletic fields, see a performance in the amphitheater, walk along the trails, or play on the Lazy Daze Playground.

The NC MPS Society 5K Run is a great challenging course.  It consists of two loops.  The small loop is the Paw Paw Loop.  The terrain is pressed grass, compressed woodchip and asphalt.  This loop runs in the open area and in through the woods.  The large loop is the Pine Cone Loop.  This challenging part of the course has some incline through the woods after Bond Park Drive and behind the Baseball Diamonds.  This loop is primarly in the woods with open area near the boathouse.  It is a great conditioning course.

The event is chip timed with awards immediately following, water and fruit.

Registration is at Buhler.  Follow Signs when entering.

Parking allowed everywhere except Community Center.
